Game One of Stonecutters Floor Hockey...Part Two!

The Matchup: Yetis (home) vs. Stonecutters (away).
    Date and Time: Monday, March 28, 2011, 8:30 P.M.
Location: Gates Field House (located inside Ritchie Center), University of Denver.

    Last Meeting: 9-6 L (02/14/2011)
    All-time record vs. Yetis: 0-3

In Part Deux of tonight's double-header action, the Stonecutters face off against a team that they nearly came back to defeat last season: the Yetis.

While the future for the Yetis was uncertain when the Winter season ended, they made a late entry back into the Sports Monster floor hockey league, causing headaches for Sports Monster's scheduling gurus...as well as Stonecutters co-captain Matthew L., who was less than pleased when the news came down about being scheduled for an opening night double-header.

However, as Stonecutters legend and inaugural Golden Hammer recipient Kevin M. noted over the weekend, the Stonecutters have historically played well in back-to-back sets, and given that they fell just short of completing the comeback against the Yetis last season, there's plenty to be optimistic about.

The Yetis did finish respectably last season, bowing out in the second round of the playoffs to the eventual division champion Nordiques. They have a lot of firepower up front their speed will make things difficult for the Stonecutters.

The Stonecutters will have the odds stacked against them slightly with last season's leading scorer Molly C. and the plucky Nora Y. unable to compete tonight. However, the entire team now has a season of experience under its belt, and with the addition of newcomer Dan S. to the Stonecutters, this is a contest that could easily go either way.

The Yetis may be rested and ready, but the Stonecutters are more than up to the task.

    Discuss tonight's game right here!
